The Best Casual/All-Rounder Sweatpants
These sweatpants are designed for around the house wear instead of athletic performance. If you’re looking for comfortable pants for winter days at home, you’ll get a lot of wear out of any pants you see listed below.
Hanes Men’s Ecosmart Fleece Sweatpants
Cheap and simple, these sweatpants from Hanes are a great choice if you want a comfortable winter pair of pants for lounging around the house. Made from a mix of 50% polyester and 50% cotton, these sweatpants feel soft and have enough stretch to provide great mobility.
Hanes makes these sweatpants out of Ecosmart fabric, which is designed specifically not to pill as it’s worn, washed and dried. These pants are available in eight colors, from the usual black, gray and light blue to deep red, navy and more.
Like most sweatpants, these are cuffed at the bottom and have a loose fit. While they’re not a good choice for sports, these cheap and simple sweatpants are ideal for lounging comfortably around the house.
Champion Men’s Closed Bottom Lightweight Jersey Sweatpants
Like the Hanes sweatpants above, these cheap sweatpants from Champion are great for use at home and as casual athletic pants. Made from 60-100% cotton depending on the color, they fit comfortably and have a decent amount of flexibility.
Since these sweatpants are fairly light, they’re good for athletic wear. If you’re looking for a pair of sweatpants you can wear in the gym during summer, these fit the bill nicely. Just don’t expect them to tolerate cold winter temperatures due to the light cotton fabric.
Champion sells these sweatpants in four different colors, all of which are priced well under $40 a pair. You’ll definitely like these if you’re looking for a pair of cheap sweatpants for working out.
Champion Men’s Powerblend Retro Fleece Jogger Pants
Another pair of sweatpants from Champion, these differ from the ones above by their fabric (a 50:50 mix of cotton and polyester) and design. Instead of the regular straight leg, these pants are tapered, with a retro look and a slimmer fit around the calves and ankles.
If you’re looking for a pair of slim sweatpants for jogging and gym training, these are definitely worth the money. They have cinched cuffs that stay in place very well while you job, as well as side pockets for holding your phone, keys and other essentials while you work out.
Although these are fleece pants, they’re not designed for extremely cold weather and are best for spring, summer and fall. At $35 or less per pair (check the price, as it can vary depending on the color and size) these are a great value for money buy.
Hemoon Men’s Running Trousers
Slim and seriously tapered, these sweatpants from HEMOON have a streetwear-inspired look that makes them perfect for wearing with casual sneakers.
From a fabric perspective, these sweatpants aren’t ideal. They’re made from 100% polyester, meaning they don’t quite have the softness of cotton pants. However, they fit comfortably and have a good amount of stretch, making them good for everyday wear.
All in all, these are fashion sweatpants first and functional sweatpants second. While they look great with a pair of minimalist sneakers, don’t expect to get much from these pants in the way of athletic performance.
URBANCREWS Mens Hipster Hip Hop Drawstring Sweatpants
Another pair of hip-hop inspired sweatpants, these pants from URBANCREWS are comfortable, easy to wear and extremely versatile. Available in almost 20 different colors, these are great for wearing with minimalist sneakers and other streetwear gear.
Like the Hemoon trousers above, these sweatpants have a tapered cut and tight cuffs around the ankles. Despite the streetwear looks, they fit comfortably and are surprisingly good for use as training gear in the gym.
At $10 to $33 a pair, these sweatpants offer great value for money. Just make sure to check the size chart before you order, as the rise and leg opening can vary from one size to another.
Southpole Men’s Basic Fleece Marled Jogger Pants
Slim and lightweight, these jogging sweatpants from Southpole are a good option for lounging around at home. Since they’re 100% polyester, they wash easily and provide a good amount of comfort.
These pants have an elastic waist with ties, banded ankle cuffs and slanted pockets around the sides to help you carry your smartphone, keys and other essential items. There’s also a single patch pocket at the back for your wallet or large, flat items.
As athletic pants, these aren’t a great option. However, if you’re just looking for a pair of light and comfortable sweatpants to wear at home, you’ll find plenty to like about these pants from Southpole.
